Eating a grapefruit has many health benefits. Eating or drinking a glass of this juice can help boost your immune system, as it is packed with Vitamin C and bioflavonoid content. It is low in sugar and high in fiber, making it a great source of fuel for your morning. Bioflavonoids are known for helping to defend against many diseases including improved cardiovascular health and heart disease, inflammation, connective tissues, vision and eyesight, skin health, and strengthens the immune system.
Grapefruit has been shown to boost the body’s metabolism by preventing obesity, lowering insulin levels and preventing insulin resistance, the precursor to diabetes, according to a study by the Journal of Diabetes (http://diabetes.diabetesjournals.org/).
It is also a great detoxifier. It has been shown to heal infections internally and externally and work as an natural anti-septic and work to cleanse the body of candida,a yeast-like, parasitic fungus.
